Teachings with Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl Feb 1-3

TilopaNalandabodhi Vancouver presents

Songs of Boundless Freedom:
The Doha Tradition of Indian Mahāsiddhas

Teachings by Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl
Friday, Feb. 1 to Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019

Many people have heard of the great Tibetan yogi, Milarepa, and his remarkable songs of realization. Yet the dohas (songs of awakening) of the 84 Indian mahāsiddhas are less well known, despite their profundity and beauty.

Many such dohas were uttered spontaneously, with unconventional even outrageous lyrics, more like modern poetry than traditional Buddhist texts.

Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl will guide us through the lives and songs of mahāsiddhas Saraha, Śavaripa, Tilopa, and Maitrīpa. And we will sing some of their joyful, powerful songs. (Note: Singing optional!)

Fri., Feb. 1: 7 pm to 9 pm
Sat., Feb. 2: 10 am to 12 noon; 2 pm to 4 pm
Sun., Feb. 3: 10 am to 12 noon

$85 for weekend; $25 per session (cash/cheque)
No one turned away for lack of funds. All welcome!

Nalandabodhi Vancouver, 4610 Earles St., Vancouver BC (nr 29th Ave SkyTrain)
