Something is different, eh?

Welcome to the new Vancouver Nalandabodhi website. This change has taken place (rather unexpectedly) due to issues with the original hosting plan used previously for the static website. Impermanence!

We ask you for patience as we work diligently to bring this site up to date with current Vancouver activities.

For the time being please consult our Google Calendar for current events

Please also note that all nalandabodhi.ca emails are affected. If you send it now, we won’t get it!

Teachings with Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl Feb 1-3

TilopaNalandabodhi Vancouver presents

Songs of Boundless Freedom:
The Doha Tradition of Indian Mahāsiddhas

Teachings by Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl
Friday, Feb. 1 to Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019

Many people have heard of the great Tibetan yogi, Milarepa, and his remarkable songs of realization. Yet the dohas (songs of awakening) of the 84 Indian mahāsiddhas are less well known, despite their profundity and beauty.

Many such dohas were uttered spontaneously, with unconventional even outrageous lyrics, more like modern poetry than traditional Buddhist texts.

Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl will guide us through the lives and songs of mahāsiddhas Saraha, Śavaripa, Tilopa, and Maitrīpa. And we will sing some of their joyful, powerful songs. (Note: Singing optional!)

Fri., Feb. 1: 7 pm to 9 pm
Sat., Feb. 2: 10 am to 12 noon; 2 pm to 4 pm
Sun., Feb. 3: 10 am to 12 noon

$85 for weekend; $25 per session (cash/cheque)
No one turned away for lack of funds. All welcome!

Nalandabodhi Vancouver, 4610 Earles St., Vancouver BC (nr 29th Ave SkyTrain)

“Go Kind” Clothing Drive a Success!

Our “Go Kind” project for October was Clothing Drive for At-Risk Youth!

And in a spirit of generosity and loving-kindness, Nalandabodhi Vancouver has once again given in a BIG WAY to help support Aunt Leahs in Vancouver with donations of used winter clothing and accessories. Thank you, everyone!

Aunt Leahs is a community organization that works with foster kids and teen moms. Among many activities, they operate Aunt Leahs Urban Thrift (117 East Broadway Ave., Vancouver BC).

Profits from the store go towards helping foster kids avoid homelessness and young mothers avoid losing custody of their kids. It’s run by volunteers, and Urban Thrift depends on quality donations from supporters.

Thank you everyone for your GO KIND generosity!
