Loving kindness and compassion are universally held as causes of genuine happiness in spiritual paths. In the Buddhist tradition, we make an aspiration to generate bodhicitta – the qualities of compassion and wisdom. Once we have a glimpse of this heart of compassion, how do we bring it into action in our daily lives?
Acharya Lama Tenpa will explore this topic through a discussion of the Six Paramitas of generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation and discriminating wisdom. These paramita practices are methods that change our habits towards non-egocentric actions and attitudes. They help us to develop the skills to truly bring our compassion to action, thus realizing our aspiration to bring genuine happiness to ourselves and others.
The program will include teaching and meditation sessions. Attend online or in person at MRC Lodge & Cabins, 3483 Highway 95, Parson, BC; 35 km south of Golden. Recordings will be available for a limited time if you can’t attend all sessions.
