“In the Mahayana-Vajrayana tradition it is said that we first communicate with mind’s basic nature – the continuity of inseparable clarity and emptiness – in shamatha meditation.” – Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
Knowing Oneself Level 2 is a shamatha meditation course that builds on the practices of KO Level 1. In this second level, we explore five progressive stages of shamatha leading to vipashyana: 1) Following the Breath; 2) Resting or Placement; 3) Examination/Observation: 4)Transformation, and 5) Perfectly Pure.
The class meets in-person at Maitrivana for five sessions, beginning Monday, June 1 (7 pm til 8:30 pm) and concluding Monday, June 29. Please pre-register.
Prerequisites: This shamatha course is open to people who have attended Knowing Oneself Level 1. It is also open to all Nalandabodhi members engaged with the practice curriculum of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.
