The cycle of Mahayana study continues with MAHA 303: Not Even a Middle. The class is onsite @ Maitrivana. Please pre-register below.
This intermediate-level course is based on the Prajñāpāramitā sutras and emphasizes the teachings of emptiness and compassion.
Not Even a Middle introduces Mādhyamika, the Middle Way School of Buddhist Philosophy. It includes discussions on the Two Realities, the progressive stages of letting go, the Five great Mādhyamika reasonings and the benefits and results of realizing emptiness. The course also looks at the school’s historical development in India and Tibet and distinctions between its major branches,
This is the third of six courses in the Mahayana series, Compassion Without Limit. The Nalandabodhi Study Path curriculum is designed by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche as a progressive series of teachings.
Prerequisites: It is highly recommended that students have some familiarity with key concepts of Buddhist teachings and some background in Buddhist study for this intermediate course.
Facilitators: Karunika Susan Stewart will be the main teacher. Susan is on Nitartha Institute’s faculty and is a senior student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. She has lead study classes at Nalandabodhi Vancouver for many years.
