Please join us for three days of Amitābha Buddha practice to mark the passing of our beloved sangha sister, Joyce Lam, and other recently departed sentient beings.
Lama Rabten will conduct the practice at Maitrivana, the Garden of Loving Kindness. Lama-la will be accompanied online by Lamas and Acharyas of Nalandabodhi.

Joyce Lam passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was a truly inspiring and exemplary dharma practitioner, one of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche’s very first students. Over the decades, she translated the entire Nalandabodhi study curriculum into Chinese, as well as Rinpoche’s teachings and books.
Joyce would often host and facilitate study group gatherings for Chinese-speaking students. For many years, she was the sole practice instructor for all of Nalandabodhi’s Chinese-speaking students — not just in Vancouver, but the rest of Canada and Asia!
There are so many dharma activities that Joyce engaged in that simply cannot be listed. We can say without a doubt that her contributions to our community and her loving devotion to our Guru and to dharma were profound and vast.
