Opening online talk by Mitra Lee Worley
Online via Zoom on Friday, March 14 • 10 am to 12 noon PST
Please join us for Chotrul Düchen, the first major Buddhist holiday in the Wood Snake Year. This program is offered online only via Zoom (please pre-register below).
Chotrul means “Miracles” and Düchen means “Great Occasion.” This holiday celebrates Buddha Shakyamuni’s fifteen consecutive days of teachings and miracles, which deepened the spiritual realization and devotion of his students.
Mitra Lee Worley will begin the celebration with reflections on this auspicious occasion. An English-language liturgical practice will follow (screen-shared), presided over by Lama Rabten Tshering.
Virtuous activities are especially beneficial on this day, when karma is said to be multiplied innumerable times. Chotrul Düchen is certainly a great day for dharma practice!
Offerings of any size are encouraged and welcome, for the benefit of gathering merit.
We celebrate Chotrul Düchen to strengthen our devotion and commitment to practice. We look forward to being together in Zoomlandia on this most auspicious occasion.
And please note: In-person teachings by Chamtrul Rinpoche begin Friday evening at 7 pm, live at Maitrivana. Also very auspicious!
