Please join us for Saka Dawa Dűchen (Shakyamuni Day) to celebrate three great events in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana.
This major Buddhist holiday is considered one of the year’s most auspicious days. Actions taken on Saka Dawa Dűchen are said to carry significant karmic weight, whether positive or negative. Many Buddhists devote the day to spiritual practice and acts of generosity, with the results multiplied many times for the benefit of all.
Shakyamuni Day is also a day to celebrate our good fortune in being able to study, reflect, and meditate on the profound teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha.
Sunday, May 31: 10 am to 12 noon (Pacific) The morning practice will be lead by Nalandabodhi teachers, with liturgies in English. We will enjoy goodies and refreshments at Maitrivana afterwards (4610 Earles St., Vancouver BC)
We look forward to practicing and celebrating with you, whether in person or online!
