Offerings to support these practices and our Teachers are greatly appreciated. To make an offering, please follow this link and write “Puja Fund” in the notes field.

The word puja in Sanskrit refers to a ritual of devotional offering and prayer. This fund holds immense significance as it allows us to organize various pujas throughout the year, including the pre-Losar Mahakala pujas. It generously supports the crucial work of our lamas and acharyas in preparing for and conducting the practice rituals, providing them with meals, refreshments, offerings for the shrine of flowers and fruits, and other related expenses. Any contribution, regardless of its size, is highly beneficial and holds great merit.

About Mahakala Practice

Mahakala Protector is practiced in Vajrayana Buddhism to welcome the New Year, to remove obstacles, and to create auspicious conditions for oneself and others. Our intention in doing protector practices is to invoke compassion, global peace, harmony, friendship, understanding, and good will: To lift all sentient beings out of negative patterns and conditions that cause harm.

Everyone is welcome to participate in silent meditation while the Lamas and Acharyas perform the chants and rituals in Tibetan. Attendees may do their own silent practice (e.g., mantra recitations, aspirations); guidance will be offered.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the Garden of Loving Kindness.
