Nalandabodhi Vancouver – Online

We’re delighted to continue our online classes in Nalandabodhi’s Mahayana study curriculum, starting Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The fourth course in this series, Yogachara, Mind Only and Shentong, is an Intermediate-level study course of the Mahayana tradition based on the Prajñāpāramitā sutras, which emphasizes the teachings of emptiness and compassion.

This course introduces the Yogachara Middle Way including an historical overview, the three natures and the 8 consciousnesses. As well, we will discuss the differences between Yogachara and the Mind Only school, the relationship between Yogachara and Madhyamaka debates and the Shentong Middle Way.

Led by senior students, the format will include a brief period of Shamatha meditation, a summary of the chapter and discussion of the content. The course book is available for purchase.

This is number four of six courses in the Mahayana series, Compassion Without Limit.

The Nalandabodhi Study Path curriculum is designed by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche as a progressive series of teachings. It is highly recommended that students have completed the Intro and Hinayana course series (or the equivalent) before taking this course.

Time: Every second Saturday from April 30 through to mid-December from 11:00am – 12:30pm Pacific Time.

Please note: There will be no classes during July and August.
